Fruit of The Holy Spirit
Devotion By Pastor Jerome Llomo | Negros Occidental“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
Galatians 5:22
One of the amazing works of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to produce qualities that we cannot do in ourselves. The Fruit of the Spirit in our lives is the result of His super natural workings as we live day by day under His control. But, before understanding this Truth in our lives, I like to bring you to the Truths of what, and who is the Holy Spirit in our lives.
The Holy Spirit gives us life.
The Holy Spirit in dwells us from Spiritual birth.
The Holy Spirit is working to fulfill the Primary purpose of God.
The moment we believe and receive Jesus Christ, life started because of Him. Knowing we are dead spiritually; He makes us alive with Him through His power. From the Book of Galatians Paul is reminding the Believers about The Gospel, Justification by Faith, Freedom from sin, and Fulfilling the Law through Love. He taught the believers to “walk by the Spirit” being dependent on Him, not to live in ourselves, since we are still capable of going back to our old life. And, He comes up to the Idea of what kind of life that is pleasing and how we can be able to do it day by day.
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”
Galatians 5:16
To “Walk by the Spirit” is to live by the Spirit, to live continually by the Spirit, to continually give your life to Him, that leads us to please God, or to continually serve Him.
Being fruitful in our Walk is the desire of God for His children possible only through the Holy Spirit. Are you fruitful in your journey? Are you walking by the Spirit?
With this kind of Life, Living or Walking by the Spirit, we will know, understand, and we will see His super natural workings, and the result of it is the quality of life that pleases God himself – the Fruit of the Spirit “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22).
