Mission Is The Heartbeat of God

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go [a]therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [b]Amen.
MISSION IS THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD OUR MISSION IS TO PREACH THE GOSPEL AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST.
I. THE AMBITION OF MISSION
- HAPPENED WHEN THERE IS AN EXPOSURE TO THE MULTITUDES MATT. 9:36a – BUT WHEN HE SAW THE MULTITUDES
- HAPPENED WHEN THERE IS AN EMPATHY TO THE MULTITUDES MATT. 9:36b – HE WAS MOVED WITH COMPASSION ON THEM
- HAPPENED WHEN THERE IS AN EXPLANATION TO THEIR MISERABLE SITUATION MATT. 9:36c- They FAINTED, AND WERE SCATTERED ABROAD AS SHEEP HAVING NO SHEPHERD.
II. THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF MISSION
- A. THE CONVERTIBILITY OF SINNERS ROMANS 10:13-14 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
- CRISIS FOR GOD’S SERVANTS MATT. 9:37-38 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
- THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF MISSION THE BLOOD OF OUR LOVED ONES, FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS WILL BE REQUIRED OF US
EZEKIEL 3:18 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.
IV. THE AWARDS OF MISSION
- WE WILL BE GIVEN THE CROWN OF REJOICING
1 THES. 2:19 19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
- Our feet will become beautiful. ROM. 10:15 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who [a]preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
- We will become wise. Pro. 11:30 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who [a]wins souls is wise.
- We will shine as the brightness of the Firmament Dan 12:3 3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.
- We will hear God’s commendation Matt. 25:21 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Conclusion:
Misson demand the work of God – We must go.
Mission demand the Word of God – We must witness.
Mission demand the Workers of God – We must pray.
Mission demand the Wealth of God – We must give.
